We are looking for a Middle School Speech and Debate Teacher for an international school in Wuhan. This position is available from the upcoming 2026–27 academic year in August, 2026. About the school Located in Wuhan, this international and bilingual school offers an innovative, high expectations curriculum in a modern campus with spacious classrooms, gymnasiums, multiple performance spaces, science labs, a swimming pool, and student dorms. It currently serves over 400 students in grades PreK to 9 and will expand annually toward a capacity of 1,800 students in grades PreK to 12. From middle school onward, students engage in advanced coursework that builds strong foundations in core subjects and prepares them for honors and Advanced Placement pathways beginning in ninth grade, while the school also emphasizes embracing Chinese culture and creating a supportive environment for both students and faculty. About the role As a Speech and Debate teacher, you design and lead a competitive program that supports students in Grades 7 to 12 as they grow into confident communicators and skilled competitors. You prepare students across debate, limited preparation, and public speaking for success in regional and international tournaments. As well as: - Manage tournament registration and logistics, including travel coordination and support for online competition formats - Deliver instruction that goes beyond grade-level standards and drives strong outcomes for every student - Build meaningful relationships with students to support individualized growth and performance - Guide students toward academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellectual development - Commit to ongoing professional learning, collaboration, and staying current with best practices - Strengthen a positive, supportive, and team-oriented school culture Job requirements - Bachelor’s degree in your subject area - Strong communication skills - Experience working in a bilingual setting preferred - At least two years as the lead teacher in a classroom Salary and benefits - Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications - Monthly housing allowance - Fully paid summer and winter holiday - Public holiday - Free tuition for up to 2 children - Flight allowance - Finish contract bonus - Annual bonus - Commercial medical insurance
