We are looking for a Vice Head of Primary School for an international school in Chengdu. This position is available from the upcoming 2026–27 academic year in August, 2026. About the school Located in a modern, high-tech district of southwest Chengdu, this spacious and well-equipped campus offers both international and bilingual curricula, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 11, with plans to expand to Grade 12. The area is known for its green spaces, easy access to the airport, and proximity to Chengdu’s rich cultural and culinary heritage, providing a vibrant and dynamic environment for both students and staff. About the role The Vice Head of Primary is part of the senior leadership team and supports the Head of School by strengthening early learning programs, child development practices, student behavior systems, and social integration across the primary division. As well as: - Lead and coordinate primary academic and student support programs that promote positive social integration in and out of the classroom - Coach teachers and Teaching Fellows on child development and effective classroom practices - Establish and refine procedures for severe or high risk behavior incidents - Support student social emotional development and help shape a consistent, achievement focused school culture - Oversee school routines and code of conduct implementation across classrooms and shared spaces such as recess, lunch, hallways, and before and after school supervision - Partner with parents to align expectations and address student needs, including supporting teacher parent communication when needed - Maintain behavior and discipline documentation and ensure follow through across the division - Coordinate academic and behavioral supports with relevant school leaders such as student affairs and academic programs - Monitor student arrival and dismissal to ensure safe, orderly daily operations Job requirements - Master’s degree required - 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in an early childhood setting - Proven administrative capability and experience managing school operations - Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and spoken communication skills Salary and benefits - Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications - Monthly housing allowance of 3,500 RMB or free accommodation - Fully paid summer and winter holiday - Public holiday - Free tuition for up to 2 children - Flight allowance - Finish contract bonus - Annual bonus - Commercial medical insurance
